What We Offer
Our kids classes are designed for young artists ages 5–12 who love to create, explore, and get a little messy with art. In our relaxed and inspiring studio, students experiment with sketching, drawing, and painting while discovering new techniques and materials.
Along the way, they’ll learn about famous artists, creative styles, and the stories behind great works of art. Each class encourages imagination, confidence, and creative thinking while kids build real artistic skills.
Most importantly, our studio is a place where kids feel inspired, supported, and excited to create.
-
Painting is a way for children to do many important things: convey ideas, use their senses, explore color, explore process and outcomes, and create aesthetically pleasing works and experiences.
-
Painting offers children a way to express their feelings through the use of colors, lines, shapes, and textures, and even the act of making a mess. Painting is also a quiet and calming activity to radiate inner peace.
-
Children learn to appreciate the art of their peers and are guided by adults in giving positive feedback to each other. An appreciation in art work causes children to try that same style in their own paintings.
-
Learning to control paintbrushes and other painting tools is a great way to gain eye-hand coordination, with a focus not only on the tool or where it should land on the painting surface, but on the space in between.
-
Painting gives children the opportunity to use most of their senses while working with various textures and colors.
They explore through various materials used in art and also express themselves verbally while telling about their works.
